Glycol refers to a class of chemical compounds that contain two hydroxyl groups (-OH). They are commonly used in a variety of industries due to their ability to retain moisture, act as solvents, and reduce freezing points.

There are different types of glycols, but the two most common are:

1. Ethylene Glycol (EG):
